Project Title: Integrated Emergency Support For South Sudanese Refugees In Adjumani District 2016-2017

Caritas intended Targets
Caritas is providing emergency support to 1,500 refugee households in Elegu border point, Pagirinya and Maaji III settlements in Adjumani District. Planned activities are filling in the existing emergency gaps in these settlements to ensure targeted refugee beneficiaries are facilitated and supported in the areas of; Non-food items (NFIs), peace building and youth interactive activities, hygiene promotion and logistical transport referral services.
The project will be implemented in two (2) settlements Pagirinya and Maaji III refugee settlements hosting approximately 18,000 and 15,000 refugee new arrivals respectively and Elegu border point These locations have been identified based on the UNHCR, OPM assessment for Refugee Emergency Response Plan 2016 and the current resettlement plans being executed by the agencies in Adjumani District.
PROJECT GOAL AND OBJECTIVES
The Project Goal
To contribute to the emergency humanitarian needs of the South Sudanese refugees in Adjumani District through an integrated approach by improving welfare and ensure a minimum living condition.
1.2 Specific Objective
To provide effective integrated response to South Sudanese refugees social needs and improved living condition.
Strategic objectives of the project
- To Support South Sudanese refugee Persons with Special Needs (PSNs) with basic household items.
- To support local peace building and conflict resolution initiatives.
- To promote refugee hygiene campaign.
- Engage youth in interactive activities.
- Provide Emergency Logistical support to vulnerable new arrivals.
